Prius vs Volt - Battle of the Batteries

Toyota continues to push the limits of green-technology, with their newest version of the Toyota Prius. This battery powered EV is ready to compete against some of the stiffest competition on the market today, including the Chevrolet Volt EV.

Toyota asserts that the new Prius estimates they will have a higher mpg-e than the Chevy Volt. The VP of Toyota U.S Sales, Bob Carter, states, "It's still an estimate, but we are confident…

Toyota Returns to Le Mans with Hybrid Racer

Toyota pulled out of Formula One racing back in 2009, and since then, there have been whispers that they wanted to focus on returning to the legendary Le Mans endurance race. Unfortunately, Japanese automakers have never had much success in the legendary race. In fact, only one competing Japanese automaker has ever placed #1 in the 24 Hour of Le Mans endurance race, which was done with their rotary engine. Knowing this, Toyota is going…

2012 Toyota Prius V

"2012 Toyota Prius v has reason to be smug," this quote from Detroit News has a valid point - for once the "S" word is not an insult, but a compliment to the legacy of Prius models, and the new "Prius Family."1

There's a new line of hybrid cars coming to Tri-State Toyota, located at 191 West Main Street, Dudley, MA, 01571 - which includes the larger sibling Toyota Prius v.

The car rolled 80 ft down the owner's driveway, across the street, and only stopped after it knocked into the neighbor's deck. Once recovered…

But, considering the two market giants have such highly-varied, complementary expertise and one common goal - to develop a rear-wheel drive hybrid system - the venture actually makes a lot of sense. While Japanese automaker Toyota brings to the table roughly 10 years of experience working with hybrid technology, the Blue Oval offers vast knowledge of the Pickup and SUV segments.

Toyota and the Blue Oval have already signed a memorandum of understanding, signifying plans to share their respective expertise and cooperatively build a new hybrid powertrain, especially…

With the 2012 Toyota Plug-In Prius fast approaching, there's no like the present to test the car's capabilities. And, that's exactly what Toyota is doing. In fact, the Japanese automaker has just released initial results from testing done with the cooperation of EDF Energy, in London.

While the demonstration isn't complete yet, interim findings show that London-based businesses and organizations participating in the three-year testing have logged an average journey distance of seven-point-three miles, an average speed of 17.7 mph, and an average recharge time of one hour and twelve minutes. Participants with access to…
