2012 Toyota Camry Achieves Perfect Safety Rating

While fun is more of a subjective term, you can measure the reliability and safety of a vehicle. We know that the Camry is able to achieve high ratings in both of these categories, according to recent reports. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) just awarded the 2012 Toyota Camry a perfect five-star overall safety rating.
In 2011, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration conducted more controlled, and much stricter testing than previous years. Many automakers were just not ready for the kind of punishment that their vehicles would endure, and safety ratings were found to be lower than expected for most auto makers. Toyota, however, is not most automakers. Instead, they came prepared, equipping the 2012 Camry with the Toyota Star Safety System. This includes:
- Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)
- Traction Control (TRAC)
- Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
- Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD)
- Brake Assist
- Smart Stop Technology Brake-Override System
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
While it may seem like an expansive list, that's because
it is! Not to mention these features are standard fare when you finance or lease a Toyota
Camry.
The mission for safety is ongoing, and drivers in the greater Dudley
area can rest assured that with each passing year, Toyota will continue to
define safety time and time again. Toyota has been known as one of the most reliable and safest vehicles for some time. But instead of sitting back and enjoying the view from the top, they continue to develop more features and push the limits.
