Toyota to Introduce Brand-New Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Technology

Calling all eco-friendly consumers in the Dudley area! Toyota has announced its plans to create a hydrogen fuel-cell car by the year 2015. Now even if you are environmentally-conscious you may still have not heard of hydrogen-fuel powered vehicles. This is perfectly understandable as the technology is still arguably in its infancy. There is only one other automaker who has confirmed production of such a vehicle, and its name begins with an H.

So for anyone sold on the magic that is electric, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and even diesel, you may be wondering how a hydrogen fuel-cell powered car with compare. Well, the hope is that hydrogen will actually be the technology that does away with combustion engines entirely. Offering the same performance as traditional gas-powered vehicles, the fuel-cell models can provide a range three times as long as a full tank of gas, and the only emissions are heat and water vapor. And in terms of its comparison to other green power-sources, fuel-cell vehicles are able to "refuel" much more quickly than all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. In fact, the big H is claiming a mere 5 minutes for its model.

We at Tri-State Toyota could not be more excited to hear Toyota's plans to help mainstream hydrogen fuel-cell technology. Toyota has always been an innovator, as is evidenced by the Toyota Prius and other eco-friendly models, and we're happy to see the Japanese-automaker going even further. Just remember: if you want to keep your Toyota running well and help it achieve its best possible gas mileage it's important to keep up with regular Toyota service appointments. For your convenience, appointments can be scheduled by calling (888) 943-7474 or directly online.
