Toyota Increases Production in Canada

The latest addition to Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada is a plant in Woodstock, Ontario, and it was built in 2008. The plant builds the Toyota Corolla, Toyota Matrix, and Toyota RAV4, as well as the Lexus RX 350. In other words, things are pretty busy there. And with demand for new Toyota models picking up again after the recovery from last year's earthquake and tsunami, the Japanese automaker is aiming to make a big investment in the plant's workforce and infrastructure.

The biggest priority of the investment will be the hiring of 400 new employees for the plant. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada's Woodstock plant already employs 6,500 workers, and it has a production capacity of about 150,000 vehicles per year. With the addition of new employees and equipment, the plant is estimated to manufacture nearly 50,000 more vehicles per year, the bulk of which will be more Toyota RAV4 crossovers.

While this might seem like an impressive investment to some, the heads of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada aren't surprised in the least. "From the moment TMMC opened the Woodstock plant, Team Members have consistently built quality in to each and every RAV4," explains Brian Krinock, President of TMMC. "Our customers recognize and appreciate their skill."1

Tri-State Toyota, located at 191 West Main Street, Dudley, MA, is inclined to agree. However, we also know that in the end, the final consensus comes from our customers. And that's why we encourage you to arrange a test drive on any Toyota you're interested in by contacting us online or by phone at 508.943.7474 to arrange a test drive.
