Adam Carolla Takes Home a Big Win at Toyota Long Beach Grand Prix Celebrity/Pro Race

When you visit the Tri State Toyota lot at 191 West Main Street in Dudley, MA, you'll find a wide range of new Toyota models that are safe, efficient, and reliable. But could you imagine them on a race track? A Formula 1 car they may not be, but that doesn't stop a group of celebrities and professional race car drivers from taking them out on the track for some fun each April.

The Toyota Long Beach Grand Prix Celebrity/Pro Race has been held each year since 1977, and it features everyday Toyota models, big-name celebrities, and professional racers zipping around the track. Notable performers in previous years include actor, Keanu Reeves; pro skateboarder, Bucky Lasek; and pro snowboarder Shaun Palmer. This year, the race was graced by the likes of actor, Adrian Brody; UFC fighter, Cain Velasquez; and American Top Gear host, Rutledge Wood.

These celebrities are pit against the likes of professional race car drivers who hold nothing back... Well except maybe at the beginning of the race, where they give the celebrities a 30-second head start. Still, that doesn't stop the action from being any less thrilling. And while comedian Adam Corolla pulled in the big win this year, pro drifter, Fredric Aasbo managed to take home fourth.

Of course, the single best aspect of the Toyota Long Beach Grand Prix Celebrity/Pro Race isn't a big name who showed up to compete, but rather the reason why the race is held in the first place. Specifically, Toyota holds it in order to benefit "Racing for Kids," a national fund-raising effort to help children's hospitals in the Long Beach area.
